Cosmetics Laboratory Services
Pharmilab will carry out in its internal laboratory a wide range of tests on cosmetic products to meet all the needs of different international legislation, as well as to ensure a correct quality control of cosmetic products.
Challenge Tests (Preservative Efficacy Test)
The Challenge Test to cosmetics is an essential test related to the effectiveness of the product against microbiological contamination. The results are crucial for the evaluation of the safety of the cosmetic product, in accordance with the requirements of the Regulation of Cosmetics (EC) No 1223/2009.
The goal of the Stability Test in cosmetic products is to ensure that the product maintains its physical, chemical and microbiological quality and its specifications, as well as its functionality and aesthetics when stored under appropriate conditions. The main purpose of the stability test is to provide data which make it possible to predict the stability of the cosmetic product over time within its useful life and the compatibility between the formulation and the packaging material.
Based on the stability test results Pharmilab can assign the shelf life or the PAO (period after opening) to the product.
The goal of safety testing is to assess the potential for skin irritation under the control of a dermatologist.
